AI v. Human Work Comparison Form

Version 1.1

Why compare outputs?

Most Tasks in this course come in pairs: you make something with conventional tools, then make its sibling with AI. At the bottom of each post for an AI-enabled Task, add this short comparison.

By semester's end, your stack of comparison forms will give employers evidence you've rigorously evaluated AI outputs, an essential skill in today's workforce.

Instructions

Copy the template below into your task post (WordPress editor > Code/Text view), then fill it in.

1. Side-by-side: place your conventional artifact and your AI artifact (or excerpts/screenshots of each) in the two columns.
2. Receipts: under the AI column, add a share link to the conversation or generation, and one output you rejected, with a phrase on why.
3. Three questions, 150 words total:
   1. What did the AI do better or faster than you?
   2. What did it do worse? Be specific enough that a classmate could spot it.
   3. What would you do differently next time — in your prompts, your process, or your choice to use AI at all?

How it's graded

The comparison adds three rows to each AI task's rubric:

• Side-by-side present with receipt and a rejected output (0-2)
• Answers are specific to your artifacts, not generic statements about AI (0-2)
• Something in your comparison is thoughtful or imaginative (0-2)

Recommendations

• "It was worse at being me" is a fine start — but say where. Was a particular sentence "off"? A shadow in an image? A sound in a recording?
• If you took the AI-optional path, compare your conventional artifact against the shared or instructor-provided AI attempt, and answer question 3 about the process you observed.
