AI Inpainting exercise
Version 1.0
Introduction
Inpainting is a capability of some AI image generators that allows the user to modify only part of a source image. This exercise shows how to use Leonardo.ai for this purpose.
Process
- Start from app.leonardo.ai
- Click on Canvas.
- Click "Upload image" at left (from your hard drive, a previously generated image, or community feed)
- Adjust the box so it is as small as possible and still enclosing the area to modify. You can move it with the selection tool at left and change its size in the controls at right.
- "Draw mask" to retain some subject and style (eg, to add sunglasses) or "Erase" to completely remove (eg, to change the background).
- Enter a prompt in the box to add to or modify the masked/erased region. Use specific, complete sentences.
- You can add a Negative Prompt via the settings button next to the text box.
- Cycle through generations with arrow buttons and click Accept or start again.
- Click download to save your final image.
